A beautiful story of a touching reunion: a kind owner returned to the shelter and took the dog home

Lewis Jimenez adopted a dog named Titus from a shelter. A man first fell in love with a dog when one day he saw him walking outside a shelter in Austin, Texas. While Lewis never considered getting a pet before, now that he’s met Titus, he’s not the one to leave him.

“I felt dizzy when I saw him in the orphanage garden. I said to myself: “Buddy, this is your dog!” Lewis later said. The man adopted the dog and they became close friends.

Then Titus was 2 years old, and 5 years have already passed. The dog became a part of Lewis’s life, he could not imagine himself without his beloved dog.

However, something happened recently that tore them apart! Lewis rented a house and was told to get rid of the dog. He had to return the dog to the shelter for a while.

There was nowhere for the man to leave Titus, there were no neighbors or friends who could shelter the dog. Lewis brought the dog to the shelter, promising that he would take him back soon, but the shelter staff often heard this expression from the lips of people who never returned for their pets and for this reason did not trust his promise.

Jenna, a shelter worker, said: “We often hear people promise to come back for their pets but never come back”. Dogs are under a lot of stress and sometimes even refuse to eat.

It was obvious that the dog was unhappy at the shelter. Lewis visited him whenever he could, but these meetings were difficult for both of them. He was looking for a new home to take his pet.

And, fortunately, that day has come. Lewis came back for Titus and took him home. The meeting of these two was very touching.
