The rescue happened yesterday afternoon, around 3:00 pm. the local time. According to Frank Prewitt, chief of the Lewiston, New York Police Department, two dog owners were playing with their dogs near Bond Lake when one of the animals rolled over in a narrow lane close to the shore. ice covers the pond.

So we see a policeman running down a snowy slope, then taking off his vest and belt before carefully moving forward across the ice to try and get to the dog. He was able to get close enough to kneel and be close to the animal.
Then he pulled him out of the water and escorted him to shore. After surviving severe hypothermia and drowning, the dog was able to reunite with his family soon after the accident.
