A helpless dolphin baby released by some kind-hearted fishermen from their nets.
Fishing nets are one of the main killers of marine animals. So when the footage shows a baby dolphin being freed from one of those death traps, it’s nothing short of touching.
The heartbreaking footage was filmed in southern Italy near the island of Procida, a few miles off the coast of Naples. And it shows a helpless baby dolphin released from their nets by some kindhearted fishermen.
But that’s not all, because when the baby’s mother sees that her beloved baby is set free, she makes some happy jumps, thanking the fishermen for their kind gesture.
However, this type of scenario is isolated as fishing activities affect countless marine animals. As a result, many animal rights groups are promising to curtail human activity in these areas.
“Research shows that interactions with bottlenose dolphins have a significant impact on the population’s resting and feeding behavior, and that people have ‘too much love for dolphins,’” New Zealand’s Department of Conservation said in a statement.
Perhaps a mother’s love is immeasurable, so this is the best way for a mother dolphin to express her gratitude to the kind men who freed her baby. The adorable footage was captured by Mario Polizzi and then posted to Facebook, where thousands of people raved about the mother dolphin’s reaction.
