“Brazil’s Most Tattooed Man” Shocks Fans After Removing His Tattoos — The Before and After Is Unbelievable

For years, Leandro de Souza was known across Brazil for his extreme appearance. With more than 170 tattoos covering about 95% of his body, he was often referred to as “the most tattooed man in Brazil.”

His striking look attracted huge attention on social media and at tattoo exhibitions. To many people, his body looked like a living canvas — a bold symbol of rebellion and rock culture.

But today, the man once famous for being covered in ink looks completely different.

Recent photos shared online reveal Leandro with a face almost free of tattoos, showing visible scars from the removal process but also a noticeably calmer and more confident expression. The dramatic transformation has stunned many of his followers.

Leandro was born in Bagé, a town near the border between Brazil and Uruguay. He got his first tattoo at just 13 years old, inspired by his love of rock bands like Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica.

Over the years, tattoos became part of his identity. Eventually, nearly his entire body was covered in ink.

His public profile grew even more after he appeared at the Santa Rosa International Tattoo Expo, where he gained recognition as Brazil’s most tattooed man.

But behind the image was a difficult personal struggle.

Leandro later revealed that he went through a severe crisis involving drug addiction and homelessness. During this time, he reached a turning point that made him rethink his entire life.

In 2023, Leandro says his life began to change after he found support in evangelical faith. According to him, the experience reshaped his perspective and gave him the strength to rebuild his life.

“Today I don’t get tattoos,” he explained. “I don’t condemn them, but after my conversion there are more important things I want to focus on.”

He also admitted that his appearance had started to feel uncomfortable for him.

“I didn’t feel good anymore. It was a world of excess. At some point I felt like a circus attraction,” he said in an interview.

Determined to leave that chapter behind, Leandro began laser tattoo removal treatments.

The treatment shatters the tattoo pigment into microscopic fragments, allowing the body to slowly clear them away over time. Several appointments are usually needed, and the full process may stretch over years, but the improvement can already be seen.

Today, his appearance reflects a completely new phase of life — one focused on recovery, faith, and personal change.

While the scars remain as reminders of the past, Leandro says they represent something deeper: a second chance.
