This beautiful lion is not an albino, but a carrier of a rare gene mutation.
Photographer Simon Needham was sincerely glad like a child that he was able not only to see a lion named Moya, but also to “persuade” him to take a picture.
This is not for two reasons at once, the lion is narcissistic, capricious, plus it was necessary to choose a corner from which all his beauty would be revealed.
Moya is not an albino, but a carrier of a rare gene mutation that colors his skin. Because of this, it is often called “mythical” because it is incredibly beautiful, unreal, like magic.
Including photographers, so as not to disturb the magnificent beast, they are forbidden to leave their cars.
But, as Needham says, it’s worth waiting and being patient, because Moya knows his own worth, and from time to time he deliberately takes positions suitable for shooting.
The abundant Moya violet captivates at first sight. The reserve also has white lions. Who knows, maybe they will have beautiful white lion cubs.
Just enjoy these pictures of the magnificent lion.
