After a severe storm, the shore of a small coastal town looked different: debris from boats, nets and planks washed up by the sea were scattered everywhere. But among all this rubbish, the fishermen noticed something that definitely hadn’t been there before.
In the middle of the sandy strip lay a huge metal container. It was covered in rust, but looked almost intact. There were no markings or numbers on the body, only deep scratches, as if something had dragged it over rocks.
At first, the men decided it was a cargo box that had been torn off a ship during a storm. But as they got closer, it became clear that the container was strange. It was too heavy, too airtight, and had some kind of incomprehensible locking system.
‘Maybe it’s military?’ suggested one of the fishermen.
‘Then why doesn’t it have any identification marks?’ replied another.
They tried to open the lid, but it wouldn’t budge. They called the rescue services, then the police. By evening, a crowd had gathered on the shore. No one knew where the box had come from or who had lost it.
The next day, the container was finally opened. The moment was captured on camera. When the lid slowly opened, people instinctively took a step back. Inside, there was nothing that could be called cargo — only a smooth black metal sphere, the size of a human head.
It lay in the centre on a soft base, as if someone had deliberately placed it there. On the surface of the sphere were patterns resembling symbols or inscriptions, but no language in the world matched them.
One of the rescuers touched it and said that the sphere was warm. Not just heated by the sun, but as if it radiated a soft warmth from within.
When they tried to measure the temperature and radiation, the instruments began to show errors. Drones and phones within a radius of several metres stopped working.
Later, the container was taken away. No one officially reported where exactly.
Two days later, the sand where it had been lying became darker and seemed to melt when touched.
Residents of the coastal town still say that at night in those parts, a soft glow can be seen above the water.
And every time someone asks what it was, an old fisherman replies:
‘Something that was not meant for our eyes to see.’
