It all started on an ordinary Friday evening. Marcus had just returned from a long week at work, craving a little comfort. He tapped on his favorite food delivery app and ordered a large pepperoni pizza. Simple. Easy. One pizza. Nothing more.
An hour passed. No problem — traffic, late cooks, it happens. He rang the doorbell and smiled when the delivery guy handed him the box. But before Marcus could even open it, his phone buzzed.
Another pizza is on its way.
He frowned. A mistake, he thought. Mistakes happen. He shrugged it off. Five minutes later, another delivery arrived. And then another. And another.
By the time the fourth pizza showed up, Marcus was standing in his doorway, arms full, mouth agape. He called the delivery service. They checked the order — only one pizza had been requested.
Then came the fifth. And the sixth. And the seventh.
An hour later, he was staring at 47 pizza boxes stacked precariously in his small apartment living room. Some were still hot, others cooling. Cheese stretched from box to box as he carefully navigated the narrow path between them.
He thought about calling the cops. He thought about giving them away. But something told him to wait. Maybe there was a reason behind this bizarre pizza rainstorm.
Finally, the last box, box 47, arrived. It looked identical to all the others, except for a small piece of tape holding a folded note underneath. Heart racing, Marcus peeled it off.
The note read:
“Sometimes, life gives you more than you ask for. Share the pizza. Share the joy. — A Friend”
Marcus laughed. Relief mixed with confusion. A friend? A prank? But then he realized he knew exactly who it could be. A coworker from the office — the one who always exaggerated stories about generosity, who had once sent him 12 cupcakes “just because.”
He looked around at the mountain of pizza boxes and felt a strange warmth. Instead of being angry, he started thinking about who he could share this with. Neighbors, friends, even strangers. Within minutes, the apartment transformed from a chaotic mess into a small community feast.
By the end of the night, Marcus had learned two things: one, never underestimate a prankster with a generous heart; and two, sometimes, life really does give you more than you ask for — and the best thing you can do is share it.
And somewhere, a coworker was probably smiling at a very successful pizza prank.
