In a truly heroic move: this young man entered the lake without hesitation to save a stranger’s dog

The inspiring act of kindness was shared by the owner of a 7-year-old dog.

Summer is here and many people travel to new places. Like a teenager who was recently on holiday in Wales and unexpectedly did something that wasn’t on his to-do list: saved a dog’s life.

Jane Warner, owner of a 7-year-old Shih Tzu named Charlie, shared an inspiring act of kindness.

On a recent trip to the forests of the Penlergar Valley, Charlie decided to hunt ducks. It was the first time he had done this, and it soon got him into trouble.

“Charlie jumped into the lake to row after the ducks, but soon found himself in the water. It was clear that he was struggling to stay afloat,” Jane said in an interview with Wales Online.

Jane was worried, but she couldn’t follow him.

Suddenly, a stranger jumped into the water and swam after Charlie.

It was not an easy task, but the teenager successfully swam out and got to Charlie. He freed the dog and carried it to shore.

“The poor boy himself was shocked after that,” said Jane. “I think it was a tougher swim than he expected and I really appreciate him for risking his safety the way he did”.
