Jodie Foster and her wife Alexandra Hedison made an unusually public appearance together as they attended the Wimbledon women’s final in London. The famously private couple rarely steps into the spotlight as a pair, making their latest outing particularly noteworthy.
Foster, 63, and Hedison have been together for 13 years and married for 12. They arrived together at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, where they posed arm in arm before heading inside to watch the championship match.
Foster chose a light-blue pinstriped shirt dress for the occasion, pairing it with pale flat shoes, a woven clutch and white sunglasses. She also casually draped a thin sweater over her shoulders. Hedison coordinated beautifully beside her in a white flared trouser suit, adding a pale-green tie and aviator sunglasses.
After posing for photographs, the couple took their seats next to each other in the prestigious Royal Box and watched the women’s final together. Their affectionate appearance offered a rare glimpse of a relationship they have largely kept away from cameras throughout their years together.
Foster has always been notably protective of her private life. Before her relationship with Hedison, she spent several years with film producer Cydney Bernard before they separated in 2008. Foster is also the mother of two sons, born in 1998 and 2001. Hedison previously dated Ellen DeGeneres from 2000 until 2004.
The couple joined a star-studded crowd at Wimbledon. Princess Kate attended in her role as patron of the tournament, while filmmaker Sam Mendes, actor Stanley Tucci and singer Cliff Richard were among the other famous faces watching from the stands.
But for fans of Foster, the biggest surprise was simply seeing the actress looking relaxed beside the woman she has shared more than a decade of her life with — a relationship that has remained remarkably private despite Foster’s decades of Hollywood fame.
