Madonna celebrated turning 68 surrounded by some of the most important people in her life. The pop icon marked her birthday on August 16 during an extravagant Greek getaway with her children, friends and 30-year-old fiancé Akeem Morris.
This year, Madonna broke with her recent tradition of celebrating in Italy and instead headed to Corfu. Joining her were children Lourdes, 29, Rocco, 26, Mercy, 20, and 13-year-old twins Stella and Estere.

The group stayed at a private residence and packed the vacation with yacht trips, a helicopter ride and several celebrations. Madonna later shared an extensive collection of photos capturing the festivities, summing up her birthday with a playful message about eating, praying, loving, drinking, dancing and smashing plates.

One of the parties took place at a traditional tavern in the village of Kouramades. Madonna arrived in a vibrant embroidered dress, floral headpiece and sparkling heels before joining her guests for dinner, music and dancing.

The evening also included a distinctly Greek touch as Madonna and her guests smashed plates during the festivities. Later, the birthday girl blew out the candles on a heart-shaped cake decorated with an evil-eye symbol.

But one party apparently wasn’t enough. Another celebration featured a white dress code, with Madonna choosing a romantic lace dress cinched at the waist. Guests gathered around a long table before dancing into the evening to live music.

Morris remained by Madonna’s side throughout the getaway. The couple became engaged last year after their relationship grew increasingly serious, and he has since appeared regularly alongside the singer at major events and family occasions.

Madonna has been married twice, first to Sean Penn and later to Guy Ritchie, and is the mother of six children, four of whom she adopted. At 68, however, she appears determined to celebrate life on her own terms — surrounded by family, romance, music and more than a few broken plates.
