Before you pour away that leftover potato broth, think twice! It can be the secret ingredient to making irresistibly fluffy and non-greasy donuts. Unlike traditional recipes, these donuts turn out lighter, crispier, and less oily while still being incredibly delicious.

Ingredients You’ll Need:
3 large potatoes
125 ml potato broth (reserved from boiling the potatoes)
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dry yeast
1 egg
550 g flour
1 tbsp sunflower oil
A pinch of salt
(Optional: A dash of nutmeg for extra flavor)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into large chunks.
Cook them in water until they become tender.
Once done, strain the broth into a separate bowl and mash the potatoes while they are still warm.

Prepare the Dough

Allow the broth and mashed potatoes to cool slightly for about 15-20 minutes.
Add the egg and a pinch of salt to the mashed potatoes (you can also mix in nutmeg for extra flavor).
In the reserved broth, dissolve the yeast, sugar, and salt. Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
Gradually incorporate the flour into the mixture while stirring.
