Orlando Bloom has undergone a dramatic physical change for his latest film, The Price of Victory. To embody his character, a former boxer attempting a comeback, the actor lost 15 kilograms in just three months under the supervision of a nutritionist. The result has left fans both impressed and unsettled.
To achieve this, Bloom followed a strict regimen: a diet made up mostly of tuna and cucumbers, alongside severe water restrictions in preparation for the final scenes, where his character needed to appear completely drained. The actor admitted that while the physical demands were extreme, the mental toll was even harder to bear.
“What I didn’t expect was how damaging it would be psychologically,” Bloom shared. “Insomnia, anxiety, paranoia — all of it became part of my daily reality. You can’t sleep when you’re constantly starving.”
He confessed that hunger dominated his thoughts, even entering his dreams. Bloom described having recurring visions of meals he longed to eat once the diet ended, calling the experience obsessive and exhausting. The toughest part, he said, was limiting water intake — a step that pushed his body to its limits for the sake of authenticity on screen.
Fans have already begun debating his drastic transformation online. While some praise his dedication, others admit the change is disturbing: “He looks like a shadow of himself,” wrote one commenter. Comparisons have even been made to Christian Bale’s famously extreme role preparations, with many questioning whether Bloom’s intense sacrifice was worth the cost to his health.
