Their complicity touches many Internet users who have learned about their story.
More than friends, Rio and Fleur actually act like sisters to each other. The girl and the dog almost never part, even when it’s time to go to bed. Their complicity touches their mother and many Internet users who have learned about their story.
Few relationships can compare to those that can exist between a child and a dog. The friendship between Rio, a 3-year-old girl, and a dachshund dog named Fleur is one of the most beautiful illustrations of this.
“They have a special connection. From the day we brought her home, there was this instant connection,” Rio’s mother and owner Fleur told Team Dogs.
Jade Ellen Anderson, 30, and her family live in Epson in Surrey, South East England.
There are 4 dogs in the house, the other 3 are an English Cocker Spaniel duo and a Cockapoo puppy (a cross between a Cocker and a Poodle), but Rio is closest to a one-year-old female Dachshund.
Probably due to her small size, as Mom explains, “Rio can carry her while other dogs are bigger. […] They are literally inseparable”.
Rio and Fleur spend a lot of time playing, especially with the Barbie doll. The kid even has a three-foot princess castle that the dog loves to sneak into.
The latter often sleeps next to her friend.
“They spend most of the day together. When Rio goes to bed, Fleur goes with her and she doesn’t move all night. Even if we go down, she will only do it when Rio wakes up”, adds Jade Ellen Anderson.
