The internet is actively discussing Homer Gere after his appearance in the latest season of Euphoria, where the 26-year-old actor shared intimate scenes with Sydney Sweeney.
Following the release of the seventh episode, social media quickly filled with comments about Homer’s appearance. In the series, he plays actor Dylan Reed, who spends the night with Sweeney’s character Cassie Howard. While many viewers praised the show for featuring more realistic body types on screen, others harshly criticized Gere’s physique, calling him “too soft” or “too out of shape” for such scenes.

Some online comments compared him unfavorably to his father, Richard Gere, who became a major sex symbol in the 1980s and 1990s thanks to films like American Gigolo.

At the same time, many fans defended the younger Gere and praised the series for moving away from unrealistic Hollywood beauty standards.

“I’d rather see someone like him than another impossible gym body,” one viewer wrote online, while others said it was refreshing to see a more natural-looking male body in a major TV production.

For Homer Gere, Euphoria marks his first major acting role. Three years ago, he graduated from Brown University with a degree in psychology before pursuing acting professionally.

The series itself continues to spark controversy. Even before the full release of the third season, Euphoria faced criticism from viewers who accused the creators of excessive violence, hypersexualization, and glamorizing destructive behavior.
Homer is the eldest son of Richard Gere from the actor’s long relationship with actress Carey Lowell. Gere later married publicist Alejandra Silva, with whom he has two younger sons.
