Rod Stewart, the iconic rock star known for his raspy voice and hits like “Maggie May” and “Forever Young,” has announced that his forthcoming tour, One Last Time, will be his final major world tour. The 79-year-old revealed the heartfelt announcement to his fans on Instagram on November 20.
Stewart reassured fans that while this marks the conclusion of his major world tours, he’s not retiring from music. “I’m not retiring,” he wrote. “I still have a passion for what I do. It’s simply time to perform in more intimate, smaller settings.” Though he’s in excellent health, he feels it’s time to take a step back from the physically demanding lifestyle of global tours.

“I’m fit, boast a full head of hair, and can sprint 100 meters in 18 seconds at the ripe age of 79,” he added humorously.
His tour will be a farewell to performing in massive arenas, marking the end of an era for fans who’ve followed him through decades of incredible performances. However, Stewart isn’t done with music. He plans to focus on more intimate shows in the future, with an upcoming Great American Songbook tour possibly on the horizon.
