Russell Crowe is showing off a strikingly different physique after undergoing a major body transformation. The 62-year-old actor previously gained around 25 kilograms, or 55 pounds, to portray Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Göring in the film Nuremberg.
Now, Crowe appears to have traded much of that extra weight for muscle. The Hollywood star shared a new photo from the gym, revealing a noticeably leaner and more muscular appearance that quickly caught fans’ attention.
Crowe has also been putting in time at the gym with WWE wrestler Drew McIntyre, sharing a snapshot from one of their training sessions. The actor praised McIntyre while emphasizing that steady effort and sticking to a routine have been central to the progress he is making.
Months of filming beneath the Spanish sun apparently gave Crowe additional motivation to get himself back into top physical condition. He and McIntyre are currently working together on the historical action movie The Last Druid.
Fans were impressed by Crowe’s transformation, particularly at 62. “To be this fit at 62 is incredible,” one person commented, while another simply wrote, “Insane, Russell.” A third added: “Wow, you look great.”
His muscular new appearance even prompted some followers to wonder whether Crowe could somehow return to the world of Gladiator, the movie that produced one of the most celebrated performances of his career.

Crowe and McIntyre were no strangers to collaborating, having previously joined forces on the forthcoming Highlander project. Crowe takes on the role of the immortal Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez, stepping into the part first brought to the screen by Sean Connery in the original 1986 film.
The new Highlander is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2027. In the meantime, Crowe’s latest gym photo has offered fans another surprise — revealing just how dramatically his appearance has changed since gaining weight for Nuremberg.
