Salma Hayek celebrated turning 60 surrounded by family and friends in Italy — and one hilarious moment from the glamorous birthday party has already gone viral.
The Mexican-American actress reached the milestone on September 2 and marked the occasion alongside her daughter, Valentina Pinault, as well as other relatives and close friends.
A glimpse inside the private celebration was shared on social media by Bu Cuarón, daughter of director Alfonso Cuarón, who was among the guests.

In the video, Hayek looked glamorous in an evening gown with a plunging neckline as she stood in front of her birthday cake with Valentina and a female friend.
The group then took part in a playful Mexican birthday tradition in which the birthday girl takes the first bite directly from the cake after making a wish.

Hayek leaned forward to take her bite — and the moment quickly became much messier and funnier than an ordinary candle-blowing celebration. The actress ended up with her face in the cake as the people around her reacted to the playful moment.
The hilarious scene was captured on video and quickly began circulating online. “Happy birthday, Salma Hayek!” Bu Cuarón wrote alongside the clip.

The celebration also offered another rare glimpse of Hayek alongside her daughter Valentina, who has increasingly accompanied her famous mother at public and family events.
Hayek married French billionaire François-Henri Pinault in 2009. The couple had welcomed Valentina two years earlier.
Pinault also has three other children. He shares daughter Mathilde and son François with his former wife Dorothée Lepère, while his son Augustin was born in 2006 to supermodel Linda Evangelista.

Augustin was born during the period when Hayek and Pinault were already together. Pinault publicly acknowledged his son with Evangelista following legal proceedings concerning child support.
Over the years, Hayek has reportedly played an important role in helping strengthen the relationship between her husband and Augustin. She has also developed a close relationship with Pinault’s other children, and the blended family frequently spends important occasions together.

The family recently entered another new chapter when François-Henri Pinault became a grandfather for the first time.
For Hayek, however, this particular celebration was all about turning 60 — and rather than marking the milestone with a perfectly posed Hollywood moment, one of the most memorable scenes from the night turned out to be a playful family tradition involving her daughter, her friends and a birthday cake.
