She managed to clean the whole 52 beaches from garbage blocks.
For a year, a person can achieve a lot. Someone finally seeks to take off in a career, someone gives birth to a long-awaited child. And someone comes into the desired physical shape.
But it is unlikely that anyone in the world in one year did the same as the 70-year-old eco-activist Pat Smith. She managed to cleanse as many as 52 beaches in her native Cornwall, as well as Devon.
This elderly woman spent a whole year on the famous beaches of Cornwall and Devon. It was armed with a bunch of garbage bags and several packs of rubber gloves, as well as a special stick with a sharp end to stab garbage.
In addition to independent work, a woman is the founder of the environmental campaign of the Final Straw Cornwall.
«Most of the garbage I collected consists of household waste. These are the remnants of those things that we all use every day. And I am shocking that people pollute our beautiful beaches with them».
«I strive to protect our living planet for my children and grandchildren. And I will continue to do everything in my power to happen!» – said Pat Smith.
«We must all take responsibility for collecting garbage», the activist constantly insists, «but this will be enough for none of us to leave him outside of special tanks and containers».
Laughing, the woman said that everyone who spends money on fitness classes should join her business. This is free, useful for the environment and greatly helps maintain form.
“I almost did not use a special stick, constantly leaning and picking up every piece of garbage with my hands,” says Pat.
