Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared a fresh batch of photos from their official visit to Scotland, offering a rare mix of formal duty and relaxed, almost intimate moments. The couple arrived yesterday in the country where they hold the titles of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, and the schedule quickly blended sport, community work, and a touch of local tradition.
Their first stop took them to the National Curling Academy in Stirling. There, 44 year old Kate and 43 year old William met with members of the British Paralympic curling team as preparations build toward the Winter Olympic Games in Milan. The visit was not just ceremonial. Both stepped onto the ice, tried their hand at curling, and spent time talking with athletes about training, competition, and life in elite sport.

The tone shifted from ice to wool as the Prince and Princess of Wales moved on to Radical Weavers, an independent charitable workshop founded in 2019. The group draws on the craft of traditional Scottish tartan weaving as a way to help people affected by trauma or loneliness rebuild connections, find community, and ease social isolation. The couple met founder Mairi Breslin, listened closely to stories behind the project, and even joined in the ambitious creation of what is set to become the longest tartan scarf in the world.

The day ended far from palace halls, inside The Goth pub, a venue operating under the Gothenburg system that reinvests profits back into the local community. Staff and guests encouraged Kate to join in with a drink, but she politely declined. William, by contrast, accepted the hospitality and enjoyed a few glasses of cider. Before leaving, the couple were presented with keepsakes. Kate received a bouquet of flowers, while William was handed a branded beer glass along with a certificate entitling him to ten drinks at the pub.

Scotland carries deep personal meaning for the couple. It was at the University of St Andrews more than twenty years ago that they first met and fell in love. Last year, they returned to mark their fourteenth wedding anniversary, quietly revisiting the place where their story began.

In early 2024, Kate underwent a scheduled surgery and later disclosed a cancer diagnosis. She completed her treatment in the autumn and gradually returned to public duties. More recently, online speculation about a possible recurrence has circulated, though no such claims have been confirmed.
