My 5️⃣-square-meter kitchen was far from the functional and stylish space that I had imagined, so it was time to give it a makeover! 🥱😬 While no one believed I could, I took the risk and turned the once-dull kitchen into a perfect dining area! 💪👷 This is when the outcomes exceed the expectations! 😍👏 The before-after photos went viral which I will share in this article! 👇
Like many people living in standard apartments, I made do with a mismatched, budget-friendly kitchen for years. A few cabinets of different styles, a fridge squeezed by the window, and a washing machine tucked under the countertop—it was far from the functional and stylish space I had imagined.

When we first moved in, a full renovation wasn’t financially possible. Instead of rushing into an expensive remodel, we took a step-by-step approach, saving up and carefully planning each update to make the most of our tiny 5m² kitchen.

Smart Upgrades for a More Functional Space
The first major change was replacing the furniture. After thoroughly planning the layout, we ordered a kitchen set from Leroy Merlin, ensuring every piece fit seamlessly into the small space. To free up counter space, we relocated the fridge near the door and cleverly concealed the gas pipe inside a cabinet by the window.

To maintain a cohesive look, we purchased all appliances at once in the same style. The sleek gas cooktop with cast-iron grates paired perfectly with an electric oven, making cooking more convenient. We also moved the washing machine to another room, instantly creating more working space in the kitchen.

A compact yet powerful extractor hood was added to keep the air fresh, proving that even small details make a big impact.

A Bright and Airy Atmosphere
We found the perfect dining table and chairs online, choosing a design that balanced practicality with aesthetics. Light-colored walls, flooring, and furniture in matching tones helped to visually expand the space, making it feel open and inviting. We intentionally avoided bold colors or excessive decor, keeping the design minimal to prevent the room from feeling cluttered.

A Kitchen Transformed
Even though we couldn’t afford a complete overhaul right away, taking a gradual and thoughtful approach allowed us to turn our once-dull kitchen into a modern, functional, and stylish space. Now, it’s not just a place to cook—it’s one of the most inviting and enjoyable areas in our home.
