On one of the shelves in the shop window lay something looked like an old fur hat.
Attention savers! If you see something hairy in a NYC thrift store, think twice before buying it!
TikTok user @thethriftymama thinks she found a pretty unique deal the other day while researching a thrift store in New York.
On one of the storefront shelves lay what looked like an antique fur hat in surprisingly good condition considering it was from the 1950s.
However, this “cap” turned out to be something much more surprising.
TikToker @thethriftymama was browsing a Manhattan store when she spotted orange fur on a clothes rack.
She quickly reached for the unusual item, thinking it was an antique fur hat from the 1950s, but there was one slight hitch. It wasn’t even a hat.
In fact, there was a purring ginger cat that was alive and well!
She stated, “I swear my heart jumped in my throat”.
When she realized that the cat was not a hat, she discovered that it was a store occupant.
A quick search on Instagram and Google reviews turned up plenty of photos of the orange kitten – it’s almost become a NYC landmark by now!
