At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, Daniel Craig made a solo appearance, leaving fans curious about the absence of his wife, actress Rachel Weisz. The actor, nominated for his role in Queer, explained her no-show on the red carpet when speaking with Extra on January 5.

When asked if Weisz, 54, was attending with him, Craig, 56, responded, “No, she’s not here. She’s handling the task of preparing our child for school.” The couple, who have been married since 2011, have a daughter named Grace.

Though Craig was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, he lost the award to Adrien Brody for his role in The Brutalist. Craig and Weisz are known for keeping their family life private. Craig is also the father of 32-year-old daughter Ella from his former marital relationship, and he is also a stepfather.

Craig, too, has opened up about balancing his career and family life. In November 2024, he told The New York Times that he chooses projects that allow him to spend more time at home. “I’ve got a 6-year-old at home,” he said, adding, “I don’t want to be away as much as I’ve been in the past.”

That same month, Craig reflected on his role in Quantum of Solace during an interview on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. While he praised the film’s stunts, he admitted the movie “didn’t quite work” and highlighted the importance of having a solid script before starting production, calling it “the abject lesson” of his experience.
