Wonderful story: this couple stayed in Mexico for a year because they didn’t want to leave the rescued cat there

Some people choose to leave their profession, sell or rent their homes, pack up and travel the world with their spouses, children and pets, as did a British couple who decided to travel through the beautiful landscapes of North America.

They have been on the road for two years now, but the story is truly unique because they rescued a beautiful cat along the way.

They cannot imagine life without Amy, so they agree to spend a year in Mexico so as not to be separated from her.

This past August, two teachers, Lee Hodges and Willow Rolfe, were touring North America in their refurbished VW truck.

They had been planning the trip for years and in 2015 bought a wrecked car to fix it up.

At the time, Willow was a car instructor and worked on a truck for two years, repairing and rebuilding it.

As Bored Panda notes, they decided to adopt a little cat they met on the street while traveling in Washington, DC, and she quickly became part of their family.

Since they already had two cats at home that they adored, they felt the need to help a homeless animal, so they adopted Amy and have been traveling with her ever since.

They joke that their gorgeous Amy travels the best; her life has completely changed.
