A beautiful story of kindness: a cute orca, stuck in the rocks, and called for help

This young orca is facing the worst experience of her life.

The orca is the most obedient and intelligent of mammals, despite its large appearance, which often makes it the object of prejudice on the part of people. Fortunately, there is always a person ready to help animals in trouble.

This young orca is facing the worst experience of her life.

In Hartley Bay, British Columbia, Canada, an innocent orca was tortured one afternoon while hunting seals with her group.

By negligence, the orca got stuck between sharp stones, because of which she was on the verge of death.

She didn’t know what to do and was completely terrified, so she began to cry non-stop. Over time, the orca began to experience stress and her crying became more and more intense as she could no longer bear the regret caused by the stones in her body.

Her crying was heard in all the surroundings, and very quickly the news reached the rescuers. As soon as the rescuers discovered the situation, they began to do everything to prevent the orca from crying.

George Fisher, a resident of the area, received a radio alert and decided to contact the Cetacean Lab association. The rescue was led by co-founder Herman Meiter.

The priority, since she was in extreme panic, was to calm the orca by somehow letting her know that they just wanted to help.

To keep her moist and protected from the sun, a group of volunteers applied various presses to the orca, making sure every part of her body was covered, and wetted her clothes with water they carried in containers.

Gradually, the orca was able to calm down.

“I think she knew we were there to help her”, Hermann said. Rescuing her was so difficult because they couldn’t tie a rope around her and just pull on it because it would be deadly because of the edge of the rocks.

There was no other choice but to keep her calm and wet until the tide rose again and set her free. For more than eight hours, the volunteers continued to work, stacking buckets of water and also using pipes to transport salt water.

The mission was clear, to keep the animal alive.
