A beautiful story: this unique pink piggy-like puppy helps children with differences to overcome it
This adorable pink, deaf, and blind puppy encourages young kids to never give up.
Piglet is a painfully adorable pink, deaf and blind puppy who encourages kids to never give up.
A Connecticut veterinarian named Melissa Shapiro offered to adopt the small animal after it was rescued and placed in a shelter.
Shapiro planned to take care of the Dachshund/Chihuahua mix temporarily because he has a lot of work to do. However, two months later, Piglet got a new home. Piglet was born in a crowded Georgia home where he previously shared his space with 35 other puppies.
He is Shapiro’s seventh dog, and although he currently lives “like a little prince”, he faced some challenges when he first joined the family.
Shapiro said in an interview with PEOPLE.
It was a difficult choice. She is overworked and essentially works full time looking after a small handicapped child. But we couldn’t give her that time because she’s so charming.
He screamed non-stop because he was very restless. The only time he didn’t play or sleep was when he screamed. The first month that the dog was here, I couldn’t leave the house.
Piglet has amassed over 116,000 followers on Instagram, where Shapiro documented the adorable animal’s incredible journey.
Piglet has gotten bolder since he was a timid, scared puppy. Now she meets new people with great joy and confidence.
However, that’s not all.
According to Shapiro, “he needs to have broader goals” before he decides to save himself.
In a third grade class in Massachusetts, a teacher used Piglet’s story to illustrate the importance of never giving up and the fact that sometimes overcoming life’s obstacles can lead to progress.
