A cat that was left in a carton full of milk thrown into trash can will fortunately have a good life

The woman remembers the unusual outing which turned into a rescue operation.

Herault, summer 2010: Leonie and her family were walking down the street towards the veterinary clinic.

Nothing out of the ordinary, right? Wait until you read more…

Against all odds, this walk turned into a real rescue operation; the little kitten was found sealed in a plastic container filled with milk.

Someone threw it in the trash can. 12 years later, a young woman interviewed by Woopets recalls:

The young then 16-year-old girl remembers this unusual walk very well.

While she was walking to the vet with her mother, younger brother and Bernese Mountain Dog, an unexpected event happened.

The boy, gifted with good hearing, heard a faint click from the container. Not once, not twice, the mother dived. In the course of her research, she made a bloody discovery.

There, buried under garbage bags, lay Topper, filled with milk, but not only … “A few weeks old, still blind, the poor innocent animal was choking”, she pointed out to our interlocutor, “of milk up to the chin”.

Thus, the cat joined the group and was entitled to the first medical consultation.

Alas, the practitioner delivered a terrible sentence. Thin and weak, will not survive.

Tears welled up on the face of a teenager when she heard the word “euthanasia”. Her mother, driven by hope, refused to console this unfortunate being who had already suffered so much.

When the doctor calculated that “the chance of him surviving is one in a million”, the trio decided to take the bet—they had brought home a wad of fur.
