A dog was saved from drowning in a cold river in Estonia, but it turned out to be a completely another animal

Wet from the cold, the animal was wrapped and taken to the veterinarian.

Recently, workers at the Sindi Dam, located on the Pärnu River in Estonia, discovered an incomprehensible creature making its way through the icy water. At first glance, the animal looked like a dog that somehow got into a roadblock and needed quick help.

People were able to work together to get to the place where the dog was and pull the poor boy away. Wet and stiff from the cold, the animal was wrapped in a blanket and taken to the veterinarian. On the road, the rescued behaved completely calmly and confidentially, so people were not afraid of his large size and heavy weight. One of the rescuers noticed unusual legs on the beast and doubted for a second who exactly the dam workers pulled out of the water. However, these assumptions were swept aside by the behavior of the dog, which continued to lie quietly on its paws and did not react to people in any way.

Employees of the veterinary clinic also did not notice anything suspicious in the patient. The truth surfaced when the animal was seen by a hunter who ended up in the clinic, who said that people did not save the dog, but the real wolf itself. It was a young wolf, about a year old. Luckily, he didn’t suffer from the cold. According to a representative of the Estonian Association for the Protection of Animals, the passive behavior of the animal could be due to a drop in blood pressure in its body.

Doctors carefully examined the wild patient and put on a special collar with GPS, after which they released him into his usual habitat.

The union representative expressed his joy that the animal was rescued and returned to the wild. It’s good that there are caring people in the world!
