A real hero: this kind farmer rescued and brought home a lonely kitten which turned out to be a cougar

When the farmer saw the frightened kitten, he picked it up and took it to his house.

This Colombian farmer thought he was helping a stray kitten when he was actually saving a wild cat’s life. Elber Guzman was riding a motorcycle when he saw a tiny creature on the side of the road and immediately rushed to his aid.

However, a few days later, he discovered that the tiny cat he had rescued was actually a newborn cougar!

Guzman’s main thought was to help, because there were so many abandoned animals in this part of the country.

So when he saw the frightened kitten, he picked it up and carried it to his house, where he looked after it and fed it. However, he noticed that the tiny creature did not behave like a cat.

“I picked him up on the road and he looked exactly like a cat and I thought to myself, ‘poor little animal, he must be lost in this secluded place,’ so I’d better take him home”, remarked cute farmer. .

“I looked at him carefully and suspected something was wrong, as he had a long tail and round ears. Also, his behavior was not identical to that of domestic cats”.

Guzman contacted the Tolima Regional Autonomous Corporation, the country’s environmental agency, and they sent someone to check on the rescued “kitten”.
