Redford is widely recognized for his appearance in «All the President’s Men» and «Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid» that catapulted him into global success and popularity. As a young boy, he attended a college but dropped out of it because of his painting pursuits which led him to move to Europe, then to New York City.

While his career flourished, the star went through challenges and hardship in his personal life that even included traumatic losses and terrible illnesses. While carving out his own path in arts, he formed a lasting relationship with Sibylle Szaggars. She is a German-born artist whom he married in 2009 and they spent over a decade together. His return to Los Angeles marked a completely new chapter in his life as he crossed paths with Lola Van Wagenen in 1958 whom he married. Unfortunately, they experienced a bitter loss during their marital life they lost their infant son which deeply hurt them leaving a forever and incurable mark. This led them to raise the awareness of SIDS significantly supporting the research. Later in life, the couple welcomed three more kids. However, other problems occurred. Their son Jamie suffered serious health challenges and had to undergo two liver transplants before his passing in 2020.
