Alejandra Silva Drops Rare Photo of Gere’s Sons — And the Internet Is Obsessed!

Richard Gere’s family is settling into life in Spain — just in time for the holidays. As December approaches, his wife Alejandra Silva has offered fans a rare look at what Christmas preparations look like in their new home.

On November 30, Silva delighted her followers by posting a cozy snapshot from their living room, where the couple’s two young sons were enthusiastically helping decorate for the season. In the photo, one child reaches up to place ornaments on a towering, glowing Christmas tree while the other digs excitedly through boxes filled with Santa figurines and festive trinkets.

Gere, now 75, and Silva are parents to Alexander, 5, and James, 4. Their blended family also includes Gere’s adult son, 24-year-old Homer, and Silva’s 11-year-old son, Albert. In her caption, written originally in Spanish, Silva shared her joy at experiencing the holidays in her home country once again. She quoted little James declaring, “Mom, today is the first day of Christmas!” before adding how much she cherishes the boys’ innocence and joy. “Christmas in Spain at last!” she wrote, finishing with a warm “Feliz Navidad.”

The season marks a meaningful transition for the family. Earlier this year, Gere explained in an interview with Vanity Fair Spain that the decision to relocate abroad was rooted in love for his wife and her heritage. After spending six years in the United States for him, Gere felt it was time to give Alejandra a return to her world — her culture, lifelong friends, and extended family.

In late November, Gere visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and confirmed that the family would be embracing their new European life wholeheartedly — including celebrating Thanksgiving in Madrid. He joked about being “fluent in 15 languages,” before noting that their bilingual children will thrive even more in Spain’s environment.

He also shared a touching detail about Alejandra’s close-knit family. Raised in a lively Spanish clan reminiscent of a bustling Italian household, she grew up under the guiding presence of her grandmother, who passed away two years ago. Gere revealed that he now sees his wife naturally stepping into that central role — organizing meals, hosting gatherings, and becoming the new anchor for a sprawling family. “She’s already preparing Sunday lunches for about 35 people,” he said with a smile.

The family’s move follows the sale of Gere’s Connecticut estate, which reportedly sold for $11 million in October. The actor, Silva, and their children had lived in the six-bedroom home for two years, having purchased it in 2022. With that chapter closed, the couple now begins a new one — surrounded by family, culture, and the warmth of a Spanish Christmas.
