Hospitals are quite stressful places for many people, especially children. But in Southampton, England, a team of dogs have made it their mission to improve their lives.
Lindsey Uglow, the author of this project, regularly brings her team of golden retrievers to the children’s hospital.
Mom has been voluntarily training therapy dogs for 10 years. Since 2012, the 7 four-legged companions he has trained have helped over 10,000 patients in and around Southampton.
During the visit, hospitalized patients sit with gentle and affectionate dogs. But the latter also accompany the younger ones to the anesthesia room and support them throughout the treatment.
