Workers carefully moved parts of the statue for archaeological purposes.
In 2017, the mysterious history of Ancient Egypt once again stunned humanity with its mysterious and gigantic creation.
In the Souq al-Khamis area of Cairo, a huge torn monument was discovered.
Workers carefully moved parts of the huge statue for archaeological purposes.
Parts of the massive creation featured royal statues from the 19th Dynasty, German-Egyptian experts said.
They were discovered next to the second temple of King Ramses, located in historic Heliopolis.
The first find is a bust 80 cm high, belonging to the king of Seti II, made of limestone.
The second is the ruined part of an 8-meter-high statue carved from quartzite, according to experts.
However, there were no hieroglyphs on it, although archaeologists found a statue at the entrance to the royal temple.
So, they came to the conclusion that it could belong to Pharaoh Ramses 2nd, who was the most powerful and famous ruler of his time.
As you can see in the pictures, the huge monument was created from heavy metals, which were unbelievable to build in antiquity.
However, one has only to remember the famous and amazing Egyptian pyramids and there will be no questions.
Such an incredibly advanced civilization really existed many centuries ago.
And it still surprises us with its wonderful and mysterious historical finds.
