Here is touching story of a blind pet dog and a pet cat with eyes.
Rescuers believed that it would be difficult for them to approve eight-year-old friends with whom they had lived together all their lives. But the shelter did not expect thousands of pet lovers to be fascinated by Spike, as well as Max’s touching story.
Dogs and cats don’t always get along. Sometimes they are friends who always help each other in difficult times. We wrote about a feline who comforted his nervous canine relative while their human was away. Now we have a blind dog who navigates life with the help of a “seeing” cat.
According to Global News, Spike, 8, as well as his beloved cat, best friend Max, were injured at the Grace Rescue Animal Association in Alberta, Canada after their owners realized they could no longer take care of them. The couple stayed at the shelter due to the cold winter seasons, and Spike and Max clearly need to have a comfortable life inside.
The facility received a phone call about an elderly dog and cat from their community who stated that in colder temperatures like this, they are simply not sure if they have a high quality of life”, recalls Shelter Executive Director Erin Deems. When rescuers got to your house, they found Spike and Max huddled in their little tent and hugging to keep you cozy.
Thinks stated, “The house cat just helped him on his little journey of survival. “They follow each other everywhere, do whatever they want with each other, and also sleep together”.
Rescue Elegance is more than happy to help Spike and Max get adopted, but they’re also determined to find this caring couple in a new home together. This can be tricky because people are usually afraid to adopt older pets.
Best wishes for Spike and Max in their new home.
“They came as friends and deserve to find a place to live together”, Deems said. “We found that this would be just a transition for older dogs which were blind, it would be much easier if their feline buddy stayed with them due to the fact that they don’t know life apart”.
As it turned out, the hideout was inundated with questions about Spike and Max, as their touching story was widely shared on Facebook. This huge interest helped rescuers adopt the blind dog and her “seeing and listening” cat into a “great” family.
“Spike and Max are officially engaged and on their way to their new mom!” Rescue Pressure is pleased to present on Facebook. “A big thank you to everyone who shared their stories – they found the best home right in Manitoba”.
