The final match, where Lionel Messi helped lead Inter Miami to a win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, turned into a family affair. Victoria Beckham arrived with three of their children — Romeo, Cruz, and Harper — along with Cruz’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, who happens to be nine years older than him.
Photos from the event showed David proudly embracing each of his kids, posing for snaps with Victoria, smiling beside Romeo, sharing sweet moments with Harper, and beaming next to Messi as the celebration unfolded.
But while the rest of the family gathered for one of David’s proudest moments, Brooklyn was absent. Instead, he posted a cooking video on Instagram, casually demonstrating how to make French onion soup — a move that many fans interpreted as yet another sign of the ongoing tension with his parents.
The friction between Brooklyn and the Beckham family is no longer a secret. The 26-year-old recently addressed the constant gossip, explaining that his strongest emotional support comes from his wife, Nicola Peltz. He said he doesn’t worry about what people say — because people “will always invent nonsense.”
The trouble reportedly dates back to their wedding. Nicola’s decision to wear a Valentino gown instead of a dress designed by Victoria Beckham caused the first spark of division. Tensions escalated when Nicola felt Victoria was too involved in the wedding planning. And at the ceremony, another dramatic moment unfolded: instead of sharing the first dance with his bride, Brooklyn danced with his mother, leaving Nicola upset.
Although the couple and the Beckham family appeared to briefly patch things up afterward — sharing photos, attending events — the peace didn’t last.
In March, Brooklyn and Nicola skipped Victoria’s fashion show, ignored Mother’s Day, skipped her birthday celebration, and even missed David’s milestone birthday. They also stopped mentioning the family online altogether. Meanwhile, reports surfaced claiming Nicola views the Beckhams as “toxic,” and Brooklyn has allegedly pulled away from them emotionally.
Interestingly, Brooklyn maintains close ties with Nicola’s family. During their second wedding celebration, he publicly thanked her parents “for always being on his side” — while not inviting his own to the event.
According to sources, Victoria and Harper are taking the rift the hardest. The Beckham brothers, however, often poke fun at Brooklyn and Nicola online, suggesting the sibling tension is far from resolved.
