Bella Hadid turned an ordinary walk through New York into another fashion moment. The 29-year-old supermodel was photographed in Tribeca on September 16 wearing a striking orange minidress — but one unexpected retro accessory gave the entire outfit a completely different feel.
Bella stepped out after visiting her sister Gigi Hadid’s pop-up in a fitted bright-orange mini featuring a simple boat neckline and three-quarter sleeves. The minimalist silhouette kept attention firmly on her figure while allowing the rest of her styling to take center stage.
Instead of pairing the short dress with summery sandals, Bella gave it an autumn update with pointed brown leather boots reaching just below the knee. She carried an oversized chocolate-brown bag and had a beige corduroy coat draped casually over her arm.
The real throwback came above the shoulders. Bella wrapped a red-and-cream checked scarf around her blonde hair, which fell underneath in long polished curls. Oversized burgundy sunglasses with orange-tinted lenses pushed the look even further into ’60s-inspired territory.
She kept her makeup soft and glowing, choosing rosy cheeks and a glossy nude-pink lip. Hoop earrings, layered necklaces, a bracelet and a watch added just enough sparkle without overwhelming the colorful outfit.
Bella’s latest appearance comes after several fashion-filled days in Manhattan. Although she didn’t return to the runway during New York Fashion Week, she made a notable return to the city during the festivities after roughly two years away, attending events connected to her latest jewelry campaign.
Her New York wardrobe has also marked something of a departure from the Western-inspired denim and prairie-style pieces she favored throughout the summer. This time, archival gowns, polished separates and leg-baring minidresses have taken over.
And while the orange mini itself was relatively simple, Bella’s combination of tall leather boots, autumnal accessories and that unmistakable retro headscarf transformed it into a look that was difficult to ignore.
