When Sergei Telesenko was born, his mother had no idea where to seek help. During her pregnancy, doctors failed to detect a rare nasal abnormality on ultrasound, leaving the family unprepared for the challenges ahead.
The condition was so unusual that it occurs only about once every ten years. Unfortunately, Sergei’s parents could not afford the costly surgery needed to correct it. Desperate, his mother reached out to the TV program I’m Ashamed of My Body in the hope that someone could help.
Thankfully, volunteers stepped in and connected the family with a skilled surgeon willing to perform the operation. Sergei, who longed to escape the stares and cruel remarks from others, bravely underwent the risky procedure followed by a long recovery period.
The outcome changed his life. Today, Sergei looks much like any other boy his age. He has many friends, enjoys school life, and has even developed a passion for football. For his mother, the surgery was nothing short of a miracle — giving her son not only a new appearance but also the chance to live with confidence and happiness.
