Music legend Cher has reportedly discovered she may have become a grandmother—more than 15 years after the child was born, according to claims made by a former model in a recent interview.
Katie Edwards, 49, told The Sun that she revealed a long-hidden family secret to the icon last year: that she allegedly has a granddaughter through her son Elijah Blue Allman, a child she claims Cher was unaware of for over a decade.
Edwards says she had a brief relationship with Elijah Blue in 2010, which resulted in the birth of a daughter named Ever. According to her, Elijah was aware of the child but remained largely absent from her life, occasionally appearing but never taking on consistent parental responsibilities.
The most surprising part of the story, Edwards claims, is that Cher only learned about the child in June of last year after directly contacting her to confirm rumors she had previously heard. She also alleges that Elijah briefly mentioned the child during a health crisis in 2021, but that Cher dismissed it at the time.
“When the news reached her, she was completely stunned,” Edwards explained, adding that Cher later told relatives, “I can’t believe it—I’m a grandmother at last.”
Although things began on an intense note, Edwards says the bond between her daughter and Cher has grown much closer over time. She shared that she and 15-year-old Ever were eventually invited to stay at Cher’s Malibu residence, where the music legend reportedly greeted them warmly and embraced her role in the teenager’s life. According to Edwards, Cher even took the time to show Ever some of her legendary stage costumes and asked about her hobbies, interests, and everyday routine.
Cher, whose personal life has often been complicated and highly visible, is a mother of two: Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. Over the years, her family has frequently made headlines, including Elijah’s well-documented struggles with substance abuse and legal matters involving conservatorship discussions.

Now 79, Cher is currently involved with 39-year-old music producer Alexander Edwards. Their relationship began toward the end of 2022, went through a brief breakup, and later resumed. In March 2026, Cher fueled speculation about a possible engagement after appearing at a public event wearing a noticeable ring, leaving fans curious about what might come next in her personal life.
As the latest claims circulate, neither Cher nor her representatives have publicly confirmed the reported family revelation.
