Christina Applegate has returned to social media with a new video after spending months largely away from the public eye. The 54-year-old actress appeared smiling at the camera as she showed off her freshly colored long blonde hair following a lengthy hospital stay earlier this year.
For the casual clip, Applegate wore a black hoodie over a matching top with jeans and layered necklaces. While her refreshed blonde hair immediately stood out, the actress also joked about noticing something unexpected on her face, writing about her new hair color and a new “weird spot” on her cheek.
She also shared a warm message for hairstylist Dave Stanwell, thanking him for brightening what she described as a cloudy day. Applegate ended the message by sending her love to him and her followers.
Fans quickly filled the comments with supportive messages and compliments. Some said she looked fantastic, while another compared her appearance to her days starring in “Married… with Children.” Others simply expressed their happiness at seeing her smiling again.

The update came more than a month after Applegate reportedly returned home following a hospitalization that began in March. The exact reason for the hospital stay was not publicly disclosed. Her representative previously noted that Applegate has a long history of complex medical issues that she has discussed openly.
Applegate herself addressed supporters in April, thanking them for their messages and explaining that health problems have become a regular part of her life. She said she was taking time to concentrate on her health while growing stronger and improving each day.
The actress revealed in 2021 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Over the years, she has spoken candidly about how the condition has affected her daily life. During her recent health difficulties, longtime friends and former co-stars were reportedly among those reaching out to support her.
David Faustino, who starred alongside Applegate in “Married… with Children,” has also spoken about their continued friendship. He said humor remains an important part of how she handles difficult periods and that they stay connected through visits and messages.
Applegate has faced other medical challenges in recent years. In August 2025, she revealed that a kidney infection had resulted in severe pain and hospitalization.
