Dad of Three Dares to Dress Differently — And It’s Causing a Huge Reaction

In a world where stereotypes still influence how people think about clothing, one man is proving that fashion doesn’t have to follow traditional rules.

Mark Bryan, an American robotics engineer living in Germany, has become well known online for his unique style. On social media, he has gathered hundreds of thousands of followers who are fascinated by the way he dresses.

At first glance, Mark’s outfits look like classic professional attire. He often wears: a button-down shirt, a tie or blazer and other typical business clothing. But from the waist down, his style takes an unexpected turn. Instead of trousers, Mark often wears skirts and high heels.

Mark explains that his clothing choices are meant to challenge the idea that certain clothes belong only to one gender. He describes himself simply as:

“A straight, cis male, Porsche enthusiast who enjoys wearing skirts and heels every day.” For him, clothing is just clothing.

He says he prefers skirts because they offer more variety, colors, and patterns than traditional men’s clothing. Floral prints, bright colors, and bold designs allow him to express himself in ways he feels men’s fashion often limits.

At 63 years old, Mark works as a robotics engineer, and he says he wears skirts and heels not only while going out but also at work and at home.

According to him, the confidence required to dress differently has actually helped him handle professional pressures. He explained in an interview:

“I dress this way because I can. Clothing shouldn’t have a gender.”

Despite the attention his fashion receives online, Mark says his family has always been supportive. His wife often helps him choose outfits, and his daughter jokes that she envies his large collection of designer shoes.

Through Instagram and other platforms, Mark receives hundreds of messages from followers thanking him for inspiring them to be more confident about their own style.

Some men have even started experimenting with their clothing choices after seeing his posts. For Mark, the message is simple: fashion should be about personal expression, not rigid rules. And sometimes, breaking stereotypes can be as simple as choosing a different pair of shoes.
