So, on the eve of the New Year, he published a congratulation in his personal blog, in which he mentioned the importance ability to take responsibility for his life.
After all, this is what saved Hopkins when it seemed that drug addiction won.

At the same time, the actor noted that at the most critical moment, alcohol took possession of them. And he seriously thought about the approaching end.
«I am an alcoholic and I know that among you there are many people who are now fighting this addiction. I want to tell you, to be kind to yourself, and proud of yourself. I understand what you are going through now. 47 years ago, I was completely desperate, until I admitted that something was wrong with me. I realized that my serious physical and mental state is alcoholism», the actor admitted.
In the motivational post, Hopkins urged people with similar problems to appreciate themselves and not give up.
