The dogs were on the side of the highway for several hours. Cars drove by. Drivers saw that the dog needed help. But none of them ever stopped. It wasn’t until a few hours later that Marley and Murphy got lucky and a car pulled up next to them.

The man immediately called the rescuers. Volunteers who arrived at the scene assessed the condition of the dog as serious: “Marley had breathing problems. We weren’t sure if we could take her to the vet”.

At the vet, Marley was checked and x-rayed. In addition to the broken ribs, the x-ray showed that the dog was due to have 11 babies. A few days later the dogs were born. All of them were healthy. Murphy was an excellent nanny.
