Jennifer Garner kept things refreshingly low-key during a recent outing with her youngest child, 14-year-old Sam. The actress was photographed running errands with her son over the weekend — before taking a moment to make one fan’s day.
Garner and Sam stopped by a golf store, where the teenager appeared to stock up on new equipment. The 54-year-old actress dressed comfortably for the casual mother-son outing in black sweatpants and a matching sweater, adding a pop of color with pink sneakers. She wore her hair loose and finished the relaxed look with sunglasses.
Sam was equally casual in a white T-shirt, green basketball shorts and black sneakers. Sporting longer, tousled hair, the teenager was photographed carrying some of his purchases, including a golf club and golf balls, as he walked alongside his famous mom.
But the shopping trip included an unexpected interruption. A fan approached Garner and asked for a photo, and the actress happily stopped to pose for a selfie. After smiling for the camera, she reunited with Sam before the pair climbed into their car.
Sam is the youngest of Garner’s three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck. The former couple have remained connected through their family life even after their divorce, and recently it was revealed that they nearly ended up working together again on screen.
Garner was previously considered for a role opposite Affleck in the film “Animals.” Affleck said he believed his former wife would have been excellent for the part and noted that working together could have made coordinating time with their children easier. However, after changes to the project, Garner reportedly felt that playing husband and wife on screen could bring too much real-life baggage into the film.
Despite that decision, Affleck has made it clear that he remains open to working with Garner on another project in the future, describing their friendship warmly and expressing gratitude for the relationship they have maintained.
For now, Garner appeared far removed from Hollywood drama during her latest outing — simply shopping with her teenage son and finding a few seconds to brighten a stranger’s day.
