John Goodman has surprised fans with his dramatically changed appearance after losing around 200 pounds. A new photo of the Hollywood actor surfaced after an unexpected encounter with fellow actor and comedian David DeLuise.
The two stars happened to cross paths at a supermarket, where they stopped to take a selfie together. DeLuise later shared the picture on social media and enthusiastically described Goodman as both a childhood favorite and a legend.

It didn’t take long for Goodman’s appearance to dominate the comments. Many fans admitted they initially struggled to recognize the actor, while others praised how he looked following his major weight transformation.
“He’s so skinny,” one person commented, while another asked in disbelief whether it was really Goodman. Others pointed out just how different the actor appears compared with the way they remember him from his earlier films.

Goodman has enjoyed a lengthy Hollywood career, appearing in memorable productions including “The Big Lebowski,” “The Flintstones,” “Coyote Ugly,” “Argo,” “Flight” and “The Hangover Part III.” His numerous fatherly roles have even led some longtime viewers to describe him as their “movie dad affectionately.”

His physical transformation didn’t happen overnight. Goodman began seriously changing his lifestyle around 2007, gradually overhauling his eating habits and making exercise a regular part of his routine.

The actor has also spoken about giving up alcohol as part of those changes. Over the years, his efforts resulted in a reported weight loss of more than 200 pounds, dramatically altering the appearance audiences had known for decades.
Away from Hollywood, Goodman has been married to his wife Anna since 1989. The longtime couple share an adult daughter, Molly.
