Kidman attended the event alongside fellow stars Sandra Bullock, Maisie Williams and Joey King. The highly anticipated sequel continues the story of the 1998 cult favorite starring Kidman and Bullock and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 10.
The actress had recently embraced a softer aesthetic at the movie’s London premiere, where she appeared in an icy pale-blue strapless Chanel gown. For Los Angeles, however, Kidman completely changed direction.
She stepped onto the red carpet in a dramatic Versace corset gown that created a striking “naked dress” effect. The design was constructed from intricate, web-like lace and featured an asymmetrical skirt that gave the revealing silhouette an even more theatrical edge.

Kidman paired the gown with a coordinating lace choker, extending the elaborate pattern up her neck. Manolo Blahnik heels completed the sophisticated yet daring ensemble.
The gothic, almost spiderweb-like appearance of the lace also seemed perfectly suited to the supernatural atmosphere surrounding Practical Magic 2. But the outfit represented more than simply a clever connection to the movie.
