After facing a challenging year marked by health struggles, Kate Middleton has shared an uplifting update on her cancer journey. On January 14, the Princess of Wales took to social media to announce that she is now in remission.
“It brings me great relief to share that I am free from the disease and fully committed to my recovery,” Middleton wrote in an Instagram post. “Anyone who has been through a cancer diagnosis understands how long it takes to adjust to a new normal. However, I am excited about the year ahead and all that it holds. Thank you for the continued support from everyone.”

She also conveyed her thanks to the healthcare professionals at the hospital, that cared for her during 2024, The Royal Marsden. “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to The Royal Marsden for their exceptional care over the past year,” she wrote. “William and I are so grateful to those who have quietly supported us through this difficult time. The care and advice we received have been outstanding.”
Touched by her experience, Middleton and Prince William have now taken on the role of Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden Hospital. “In my new position, I hope to contribute to advancing groundbreaking research, clinical excellence, and the wellbeing of patients and families. By doing so, we can save more lives and improve the experience for those affected by cancer,” Middleton explained.
Kate Middleton first publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis on March 22, 2024, through a video on social media. She had decided to keep the information private at first, but as speculations about her absence from public events grew in early 2024, she chose to address it openly.
Throughout her health journey, Prince William has remained mostly silent, offering brief reassurances to the public that his wife was “doing well” during the summer months. In September, Middleton reported the end of her chemotherapy treatments.
