Matthew McConaughey may have been celebrating his latest project, but his wife Camila Alves and their 16-year-old daughter Vida quickly became two of the biggest attention-grabbers on the red carpet. The family stepped out together for the Los Angeles premiere of Matthew’s new comedy series “Brothers” on September 17.
Camila, Matthew and their two eldest children, Levi and Vida, posed together for photographers, turning the premiere into a rare family affair. Camila and Vida were particularly striking as they stood side by side in completely contrasting outfits — while their strong mother-daughter resemblance was difficult to miss.
Camila chose an elegant floor-length white gown with a dramatic draped, wet-look effect. The fabric wrapped around her figure before flowing into a long skirt, while statement silver earrings and white heels completed the monochromatic ensemble. She wore her long dark hair loose in soft waves.
Vida went in precisely the opposite direction. The teenager wore a sheer black minidress covered with intricate silver embellishments and finished with flowing sleeves. She paired it with sheer black tights, chunky platform Mary Jane shoes and a small handbag, wearing her hair up with loose strands framing her face.
Her 18-year-old brother Levi also joined the family photos, opting for a classic black suit and patterned shirt worn slightly open at the collar. Matthew stood out in a chocolate-brown suit with a gray shirt, dark sunglasses and black shoes.
There was another special family member on the red carpet: Matthew’s mother, Kay McConaughey, who also wore white and posed with the group. The actor and Camila’s youngest child, 13-year-old Livingston, was not pictured at the premiere.
The family gathered to support Matthew’s new eight-episode comedy “Brothers,” which he stars in and executive produces alongside longtime friend Woody Harrelson. The pair play fictionalized versions of themselves in a story that playfully draws on speculation surrounding whether they could potentially share the same biological father.
But before attention shifted to what was happening on screen, it was Camila and Vida’s glamorous mother-daughter appearance — one dressed in angelic white and the other in dramatic black — that delivered one of the night’s most memorable family moments.
