Sydney Sweeney Steals the Spotlight in a Tiny White Dress on the Canals of Venice

Sydney Sweeney continued her stylish run in Venice with another white ensemble that was difficult to miss. The 28-year-old actress stepped out on Thursday, September 3, during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, making the city’s famous canals the backdrop for her latest fashion moment.

The Euphoria star was photographed climbing aboard a Venetian water taxi in a strapless white minidress. With its dramatically short length, the outfit drew attention to her legs while offering a much more modern and streamlined look than some of the vintage pieces she had worn earlier in the week.

The dress featured a clean, straight neckline and a close-fitting, precisely structured shape. There were virtually no decorative details, allowing its sharp construction, bright white color and abbreviated hem to do all the talking.

Sweeney introduced a bold contrast through her accessories. Slim black sunglasses and a structured black clutch broke up the otherwise completely white look, while a glittering diamond bracelet brought an extra hint of luxury.

She kept the rest of her appearance simple and polished. Her long blonde hair was styled straight and parted neatly down the middle, cascading naturally behind her shoulders. Fresh, understated makeup completed the effortless daytime look.

As the water taxi made its way through Venice, Sweeney appeared to be enjoying herself. She smiled and waved while standing aboard the boat, transforming a routine journey through the city into another opportunity to showcase her festival wardrobe.

Her latest minidress followed another strapless white outfit she had worn only hours earlier. On Wednesday evening, Sweeney visited Venice’s Harry’s Bar dressed in an archival Chanel creation designed by Karl Lagerfeld for the fashion house’s Spring 1987 collection and sourced through Raffe Vintage.

That ivory gown delivered a noticeably softer and more romantic mood. It featured a sweetheart neckline, gathered detailing through the bodice and elegant draping along the flowing skirt. A brown Chanel handbag, white mules and narrow sunglasses completed the evening ensemble.

Although both dresses shared a pale palette and strapless construction, they represented very different fashion moods. The archival Chanel gown leaned heavily into romantic 1980s elegance, while the sharply tailored minidress offered a cleaner, bolder and distinctly contemporary alternative.

Sweeney had already started attracting attention with her outfits when she arrived in Venice on September 2. Her first look included a sheer lace Georges Chakra halter top, tailored Bermuda shorts and transparent Gianvito Rossi footwear, setting the tone for a festival wardrobe filled with contrasting silhouettes.

Sydney Sweeney is attending the Venice festivities in her role as a beauty ambassador, with Kendall Jenner also taking part in promotional events during the festival.

Sweeney does not appear to have traveled to the Lido to unveil a new film, unlike many of the stars attending the festival. Instead, her fashion has become one of the most noticeable elements of her Venice visit. From sheer vintage-inspired lace and archival evening glamour to an exceptionally short white mini, the actress has turned each appearance into a distinctly different style statement.
