Boiling and peeling eggs doesn’t have to be a hassle. With this simple trick, you can achieve flawless egg peeling with every batch!
What You Need:
Eggs (slightly older)
Water
Ice
A pot
A bowl for the ice bath
Set the eggs in a pot and add cold water to completely cover them. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and cook for 10-12 minutes.
Ice Bath: While the eggs cook, prepare a bowl with ice water. This step stops further cooking and helps the shell come off more easily.
Drop the boiled eggs into an ice bath and leave them for 5-10 minutes to cool completely.
Tap the cooled eggs gently to crack the shell. Roll under your hand to loosen it, starting at the wider end. Rinse under cold water to remove shell bits.
The ice bath leads to a natural shrinkage, making it easier to peel. Avoids the sulfur reaction that causes yolk discoloration.
Aged eggs peel effortlessly—choose older ones! And consider mixing in a little baking soda or vinegar!
for an even smoother process.
Try this method for perfectly boiled and perfectly smooth eggs with every peel!
