They were considered to be among the most iconic couples back in the 1990s. However, their married life was not as smooth as it might seem. The spouses couldn’t have biological kids which, however, didn’t prevent them from extending their family by adoption.
In 1992 they adopted a daughter, then a son two years later. Just imagine everyone’s surprise when the spouses announced their separation. While they could have equals roles in their kids’ upbringing, it didn’t take long for the actress to forget about them and start everything from scratch.
She was fully focused on her acting career and often traveled thus giving less attention to their children. It is believed that the couple divorced because of Tom’s passion for scientology which, as experts claim, became the reason for his divorce from his second wife too.
