What a brave act: the kind officer immediately took off his shoes and went to rescue a lone dog in the tunnel

This beautiful story was sincere and touched everyone.

Officer Joe Brazil is always ready to help. In fact, he did not hesitate to save the helpless dog. On May 2, 2016, Peggy Edwards shared her story on Facebook and it quickly went viral. This story was sincere and touched us all. A significant role in her story was played by a police officer from Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It all started when a car scared away a cute but nervous Yorkshire terrier. And the dog’s first impulse was to run into the tunnel.

“April 30, a small dog was running free when it was startled by a passing car. She ran into a tunnel through which a nearby stream flows. She was stuck at a depth of about 20-25 feet and was clinging to the edge,” Peggy explained on Facebook. Her instincts told her that she should help the little dog, but she hesitated. She called the Woonsocket Police Department for help, and she was not disappointed.

Peggy then described what had happened, and the brave officer readily helped her. Without a second’s hesitation, he dived and resurfaced with a very wet, frightened little dog. “I am very glad that I was able to save the little girl,” Peggy added.

WJAR NBC10 spoke to an officer who stated, “As I got closer, I saw Cece just clinging to the side and shaking”. The dog was very, very scared.

“It looked like she was saying thank you”. “She seemed to know that I was there to help,” Brazil explained to WJAR NBC10. The lovely dog looks so gentle and grateful to the attractive officer who saved her, as seen in the photo. After all, this dog was not homeless. She was from a wonderful family. According to another WJAR NBC10 interview, this adorable dog was named Cece. Cece’s owner, Michelle Perez, was overjoyed that her dog had been found.

She is only 5 months old. In an interview, Perez explained: “I couldn’t sleep”. We are all happy that Cece was saved and returned to her owner.
